Two Teva Brands Have Become Winners of the Platinum Ounce this Year: Vicks, OTC Brand and Dynamico, Generic Rx Brand.

Teva Russia Wins Two "Platinum Ounce" Awards

Platinum Ounce is a much sought after pharmaceutical award in Russia, informally known as the "Pharma Oscar". Winners are chosen by leaders in largest pharmaceutical companies, health services, public organizations, and pharmaceutical publications.

Two Teva's brands have won the Platinum Ounce this year, Vicks, OTC Brand and Dynamico, generic Rx brand. Teva was also nominated in the International Company of the year category. The company's achievements have received significant recognition by the pharmaceutical community.

This is Vick's second brand award in the last few months, after being named Pharmvestnik 6th most popular OTC brand and after becoming the 9th most popular Cough & Cold brand, according to IMS market share. These accomplishments are especially remarkable since Vicks was launched in Russia less than two years ago.

The team credits three factors for these recent successes:
  • Leveraging TEVA Regulatory Affairs expertise which enabled the registration of the full Vicks range in less than 6 months after the JV creation.
  • Strong Vicks distribution and pharmacist recommendation build-up, thanks to the TEVA Russia sales organization capability.
  • A holistic marketing and communication support plan across all key touch-points, including Vicks TV copy with Russian ice-skating Olympian, Evgeni Plushenko.

Dynamico is a sildenafil product which is generic to Viagra. Since its launch about two years ago, the brand has achieved market position #3 in its therapeutic segment.
