Chinese Deputy Minister Visits Teva at Kfar Saba, Israel

Yin-Li, Deputy Minister and head of the Chinese Food and Drug Administration (CFDA) recently toured Teva's manufacturing facility at Kfar Saba during his first visit to Israel.

The Deputy Minister was accompanied by a delegation of four senior officials from the CFDA, as well as by Mr. Eliran Elimelech, commercial attaché at the Embassy of Israel in Beijing.

In Teva Kfar Saba, the delegation was greeted by Judith Vardi, President and Chief Executive Officer of Teva EMIA & APAC, Ika Abarbanel, Executive Vice President of Teva Corporate in Israel and Global Community Alliances, and other key members of Teva’s R&D and executive teams.

Deputy Minister Yin-Li’s visit provided an opportunity to learn about the field of health and medicine in Israel, and to become acquainted with Teva’s pharmaceutical and regulatory activities in Israel and worldwide.

The Deputy Minister also presented an overview of the Chinese health system and regulatory environment, therapeutic areas of interest in China and the importance of high quality, high volume production in the rapidly growing Chinese pharmaceutical market.

During his visit, Deputy Minister Yin-Li remarked that, "We were delighted to visit Teva, a pharmaceutical company with a multinational reputation, both for the quality of its products and for its global activity.” He continued, “In China there is an increasing demand for quality generic medication, and we also have a great interest in the areas of oncology, respiratory, and the central nervous system. We were very impressed by Teva's portfolio in these areas."
